The boy took a deep breath and then started running towards the edge. Then he jumped.
Into the lake, about 35 yards below.
At first he fell with his limps flailing, as if he did not expect such a deep drop.

Night had rolled onto the lands and engulfed them in complete darkness. The 5 battalions of the Imperial Army were wary from the march, originating from the center of the continent Minegarde, to the very north-western corner, to a place called Meldon. It was a quite little village that was like a half-island in a sea of trees that formed a mighty forest. Somewhere in the distance were a couple of mountains where fire wyvern's lived. But they did not bother the villagers. Many of the inhabitants of the settling were capable fighters and in the past several recognized hunters had originated from here.
